Declare the importIn the UK you generally have 14 days after the vehicle arrives to tell HMRC (NOVA). Late notices can be fined. Start on GOV.UK.

Prove the vehicle meets standardsSafety and emissions approval (IVA or an exemption) before DVLA will register many imports.

Register and taxRegister with the destination licensing authority after customs and approval. In the UK that is DVLA.
